Friends of OLV August 2019 Newsletter

Greetings!

Dear Friends,

The doors have finally opened! Thank you to all who supported Our Lady of Victory to help us to this moment. The students just returned from a three day backpacking trip that set the tone for the school year and gave the new community a chance to bond. Thanks to Creatio for their help in planning and leading this trip and to Fr. Paul Kostka of the Servants of Christ Jesus for serving as chaplain.

Now that the school has become a reality, we are receiving increased interest for next year. The Board has begun planning for the school's growth, as we begin to set in motion the application process for next year, as well as our next hiring cycle. The prospects of continued growth are exciting, but also impress on us that there is no time to rest at the beginning of the school year!

Please continue to pray for our new school community and consider supporting us to help with our expansion.

Our Lady of Victory, pray for us!

Dr. Jared Staudt, President

Celebrating Our Lady of Victory!

On Saturday, August 10, OLV hosted an opening celebration at the St. Louis campus in Englewood. After a ceremonial ribbon cutting and blessing of OLV's classroom by Fr. Giovanni Capucci, pastoral administrator of St. Louis, Fr. Capucci celebrated the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass with our growing community.

A lunch on the lawn followed Mass. We were amazed by the enthusiastic turnout: about 170 people attended, including this year's ninth grade, families, supporters, and potential future students. Thank you to the volunteers who made this beautiful event possible, and to the generous donors who decided to contribute financially for the first time.

First Day of Classes!

OLV Officially Opens: OLV officially opened its doors to the Class of 2023 on Tuesday, August 20. Students experienced a short but substantive week, including Euclidean geometry and Latin. Students and teachers are beginning to settle into the rhythm of daily Mass and instruction.

OLV's First Class Is Full and Interest Is Still Growing: OLV was blessed to fill its limit of 20 students for the first year, requiring the start of a waiting list! A large number of families have already expressed interest for the 2020-2021 school year. Join them, and continue to learn more about OLV and our admissions process.
