Daily Mass & Confession at OLV

Every school must decide how to use its limited hours each week. More classroom instruction, a longer lunch, more time for formation, clubs and athletics, an earlier dismissal—all offer something good. A school’s bell schedule reveals how it prioritizes these competing goods. One of OLV’s distinguishing commitments among the Catholic high schools in the south Denver metro area is that our entire community attends Mass together every single day.

This commitment expresses what we believe education is for: forming young men and women who are fully alive in Christ. At Mass, we bring our studies, friendships, challenges, and hopes before the Lord. The Eucharist gives the school day its center and reminds us that all we learn and do finds its deepest meaning in Jesus Christ.

After Mass—which takes place on our campus, and which is open to parents, alumni, and friends of the school—students are able to receive the Sacrament of Confession from our visiting priests.

The sacraments are the lifeblood of our school, and their daily reception brings our students into contact with Christ the Teacher. We are blessed by the ministry of priests from both the Archdiocese of Denver and the Diocese of Colorado Springs, who makes these sacraments available to our community on a daily basis.
