INFORMATION & UPDATES

  • Dear Friends and Families of Our Lady of Victory,

Is it just me, or is the second week of Lent always the most difficult one? The enthusiasm with which we embraced our Lenten disciplines little more than a week ago has now given way to the tedium of the minor sacrifices that we continue to make. I don’t crave steak often, but when I do, it always seems like it’s a Friday during Lent.

As a boy, I remember reading the stories of martyrs like Isaac Jogues and his companions and daydreaming about how I, too, would one day like to give my life for Christ in heroic fashion that would be remembered for hundreds of years after my death. Of course, I would come home from school and, like many teenagers, groan when my parents asked me to empty the dishwasher or take the garbage cans out to the curb.

The Church has long spoken about "white martyrdom,” the quiet offering of small sacrifices that shape our souls over time. Very few of us will ever be called to the dramatic witness of the great missionaries and martyrs. Far more often, we are asked to imitate Christ through patience and charity in the ordinary routines of life. The real test of our love is often found not in grand gestures but in the humble duties placed before us each day.

For our students, that might look like finishing a difficult assignment without complaint, choosing kindness when a classmate or teacher is irritating, or putting the phone away to be present to younger siblings. For parents, it may be the unseen sacrifices of time, energy, and sleep that come with raising children well. For all of us, Lent is an invitation to accept these small crosses willingly and to unite them with the sacrifice of Christ.

I pray that your prayer, fasting, and almsgiving have been easy, but if not, then let us rejoice together that Christ has given us these small crosses to bring us closer to Him.

    Peace in Christ,
    Randy

  • Dear Families,

We have cycled through offering a Mass for every family in the school, and we would like to open up our Mass intentions to the community now. You can email me (receptionist@ourladyofvictorydenver.com) with an intention (and if it's for a specific day or open to any day). We ask that families limit to 1 intention for the remainder of the year.

It is a joy getting to celebrate Mass as a community and praying together!

    In Christ,
    Emma Barham
    Office Administrator

  • As many of you know, we recently went under contract to purchase the property of Mackintosh Academy in Littleton, CO. Our ability to successfully raise significant funds in the next 45 days to close on the property will require the active participation of everyone in our community.

Most immediately, we need to understand your ability and willingness to contribute to this important effort in the life of our school.

Please complete this brief survey today to indicate whether you plan to contribute, and at what level, within the next 45 days. This is not a formal pledge, but your candid response will help us plan wisely and advance the fundraising effort with both clarity and speed.

Thank you in advance for your consideration and support of our mission!
