The organizers of the Colorado March for Life have selected the students from Chesterton Academy of Our Lady of Victory to carry the March for Life banner at the head of the March this year!
Please see the logistics below for the March for Life. Also, please respond to Mrs. Grant to the questions at the bottom by Friday, April 4th.
Students to be dropped off at St. Mark Catholic Church rather than the school in order to begin our day attending Mass at 8:00 am (this is an hour earlier than last year in order to avoid being late to the rally)
OLV will have two busses waiting for us at St. Mark and we will begin boarding at 9:00 am with a goal of arriving at the Capitol by 10:00 am
Rally begins at 11:00 am and March begins at 12:00 pm
We will re-board our busses after the March and should be back to St. Mark by 2:00 pm. Parents should pick up their students at St. Mark at that time
Similar to last year, students should pack a sack lunch to eat on the bus either on the way down or way back. Water is encouraged but there will be no access to bathrooms so everyone should plan accordingly.
One last thought...last year we passed an envelope around the busses for driver tips. Our drivers were wonderful last year and very supportive of the cause. Please bring a couple of dollars for this purpose.
Action items for parents:
Please let Mrs. Grant know ASAP if your student will not be in attendance. If parents wish to join and ride on the busses, please also let Mrs. Grant know by Friday. Other family members are welcome to join OLV, but cannot ride on the busses as we are sharing space with St. Mark parishioners.
Mrs. Grant needs an approximate number of Mass attendees to ensure that St. Mark has enough hosts. Please let Mrs. Grant know
If your student will not be attending OR
How many of your family members are expected to attend Mass.
Our morning Open Houses consist of a presentation, tour, and ample opportunity for Q&A from 8:15-10:15 a.m., with the option to join us for daily Mass at 7:30 a.m. Please join to learn about our classical curriculum, our approach to Catholic formation, and what makes a Chesterton Academy unique.
Students are individually paired with an Ambassador to experience our classes and joyful atmosphere. Parents may choose a full day or half day.
When: Friday, March 21, 2025 (5:30 VIP cocktail hour, 6:15 student call time, 7:00 all parent admission)
What: An evening designed to showcase our students’ performing and visual arts, and dancing talent. All students are required to be in attendance the evening of Friday, March 21. Call Time is 6:15 pm. Parents are encouraged to attend and invite others to learn about and support our mission.
There will be chorale performances you won’t want to miss, dancing demonstrations followed by a dance-along, and the usual crowd-pleaser, the Art Show.
Is this a Fundraiser or a Friendraiser? It’s BOTH! As in past years, all parents will want to come to view their children’s talent. They can also use this opportunity to grow our community, widely inviting friends, future OLV parents, and extended family to come experience the beauty of Chesterton exemplified by our Fine Arts programming, while benefitting OLV’s future.
VIP Cocktail Hour Tickets: The evening will start at 5:30 p.m. with VIP access for ticket-holders to a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres hour with our Art Teacher Ms. Dam and the Executive Director, along with exclusive, uncrowded, sneak peeks at the student art show with the opportunity to select art pieces which, for a donation to OLV, will be carefully printed and delivered to your student a few weeks after the evening. Finally, ticket holders get priority seating during the chorale performance. Like last year, we will offer a 6-pack ticket package at a reduced price, to encourage you to bring friends along for a fun evening out!
Men: Outdoor Survival Skills Day - This day will include fire and shelter building, orienteering, and knot tying. Students will compete in groups to see who would survive longest in the wilderness.
Women: Women’s Lenten Reflection
