Dear Friends and Families of Our Lady of Victory,
When I accepted this job a little over a year ago, I had no idea what to expect. I had long admired Our Lady of Victory from a distance: its curriculum, its commitment to orthodoxy, the sharp uniforms of its students. I had heard good things about the teachers and families involved in the project. In the privacy of our home, my wife and I often wondered out loud how it would be received for the Dean of Students and founding theology teacher at John Paul the Great to one day send his kids to Our Lady of Victory. Fortunately for us, God had different plans for our family, and we got to avoid what would have been, I’m sure, a very awkward conversation.
What we found at OLV was a beautiful, joyful Catholic community of human beings toiling in the vineyard of the Lord to build a high school worthy of the children whom God has entrusted to our care. The Lord does not demand a perfect or a frictionless community; instead, He demands fidelity to the mission of Jesus Christ, charity above all things, a willingness to overlook a bit of messiness and fallen human nature, and an ability to forgive whenever we have been wronged. Insofar as those things continue to be found at OLV, I am confident that the Lord will continue to bless the work of our hands.
I was texting a friend a few hours ago, and I said this: “If you haven’t figured it out already, OLV is very much the grassroots Catholic high school in Denver.” His response made me smile: “That’s why we love you, bud. That’s what the Church is supposed to be.” He’s right.
At the conclusion of my first year as Headmaster, I want to extend my sincere thanks to our incredible faculty and staff, our amazing parent community, and our wonderful students. You are what makes this school what it is. My family and I are blessed to be a part of what so many of you have helped to build over the last seven years. Thank you!
As we approach the end of the school year, please be assured of my continued prayers of thanksgiving for each of you. We are deeply blessed by your presence in this community, and we look forward with great excitement to welcoming all of you back to our new campus in the fall.
Peace in Christ,
Randy -
Hello Families of Incoming 2026-27 Students,
Welcome to Our Lady of Victory! We are so happy you are here. This is the Quid Novi, OLV’s community newsletter. This is our primary means of disseminating information, so please make a habit of reading it thouroughly. During the school year, we will send it out every Thursday, but during the summer, only once per month.
In addition to the Quid Novi, we have an OLV Community GroupMe where families can stay connected! You can join using the link below:
https://groupme.com/join_group/69263935/rm35yEEi
We want to make this transition as smooth as possible for all incoming members of our community, so please do not hesitate to contact me with anything you might need! You can reach me at madelyn.wofford@ourladyofvictorydenver.com.
Peace in Christ,
Maddie Wofford

Many (MANY!) of you have asked how you can help us with the gargantuan task of moving to our new campus over the summer. We are delighted to share a Sign Up Genius with dates and asks. Our major moving day will take place on Saturday, June 13th. Fortunately, due to an incredibly generous benefactor who has offered use of moving trucks and a crew, we will not need to move any major furniture, only boxes of books and other assorted goods from around the building. If you are around, we greatly appreciate your help, especially if you have access to a pickup or a trailer.
Please sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0548ADA729A0F4C52-64234919-olvs#/
And if you're not around that week to help out, I assure you that there will be plenty of additional opportunities to help us out over the summer :)
Peace in Christ,
Randy -
Dear Parents of Rising Sophomores,
Looking forward to next year, there are two possible math classes: Algebra 1 or Algebra 2. Placements will be made by referencing your students' application materials and whether or not they successfully completed an Algebra 1 course prior to their admittance at OLV. If we have a record of that they will be placed in Algebra 2 next year, if we do not, they will be placed in Algebra 1. For those expecting placement in Algebra 2, it would be wise for your student to spend time this summer brushing up on Algebra 1 skills after taking a break with Geometry. A good resource can be found here, Khan Academy's Algebra 1 materials. At the beginning of next school year a pre-test will be given to the Algebra 2 students to verify placement.
If you expect your student to be placed in Algebra 2 but would prefer them to be in Algebra 1 please let us know so we can take that into consideration.
Please direct any other questions about this to Mr. Buechler and Mr. Aust.

One of the wonderful things about being a part of the Chesterton Network is the opportunity our upperclassmen have to travel to Rome. If you will have a Junior or Senior next year and are interested in the 2027 Rome Pilgrimage, please fill out this interest form as soon as possible. This form is internal to OLV and will be used for planning and contact purposes. Official registration opens on Wednesday, May 27! Registrations are made through ProRome Tours. A $300 deposit will be required at the time of registration. This registration opens for students first and will be open through June 17, after that time we will get the chaperones registered for your school.
We will be in Rome from March 23 - April 3, 2027.
(Easter is March 28, and this coincides with our Easter break from March 25 - April 5.)
Experiencing Easter Week in Rome is unforgettable — from Holy Thursday Mass and the Seven Churches Visitation to venerating the True Cross and climbing the Sancta Scala on Good Friday along with the Easter Sunday Papal Mass in St. Peter's Square alongside Catholics from around the world.
All families who fill out the interest form will be contacted with more information early next week. Please contact Ms. Wofford with any questions you might have! This is a trip worth prayerfully considering for your child. -

Do you have old moving boxes sitting in your basement or garage? As we prepare for our move to our new campus, we are in need of sturdy moving boxes of all sizes.
If you have boxes you would be willing to donate to the moving effort, please drop them off at the school office over the next few weeks. Flattened boxes are especially appreciated for easy storage before the move.
Thank you for helping us make this exciting transition possible!

Registration for Fall sports will open on Friday, May 8th. Current sports to be offered are Girls Volleyball and Coed Cross Country. Details will be up on the athletics web page and updated as the planning progresses.
We want to get early registration going because both these sports will have summer communications and begin practicing prior to the official start of the academic school year.
If you have any questions please email Coach Jayce and copy the new athletics email (athletics@ourladyofvictorydenver.com).
