Dear Chesterton Academy of Our Lady of Victory Families,

Greetings from Redondo Beach, California, where we are visiting my wife's family. We left on Monday, spent one night in Santa Fe, where we saw the famous spiral staircase at the Loretto Chapel, and another night in Phoenix, Arizona, where the temperature was 116 degrees (!) when we arrived.

While we've been away, I have been receiving periodic updates from Therese Chavez and members of our staff about the tremendous progress being made at our new campus. I am deeply grateful for the many parents, students, and siblings who have devoted countless hours this summer to help us prepare our new home for the coming school year. Your generosity and willingness to serve continue to amaze me.

I was recently speaking with a friend who works at another Catholic high school in the Denver area. Despite the considerable material advantages his school enjoys, he told me that the one thing he has always envied about OLV is the extraordinary involvement of our families. I told him that our school simply would not exist without the tireless efforts of our parents: those who currently serve and have served on our Board as well as those who quietly and consistently give of their time, talent, and treasure in a thousand different ways.

As we prepare to begin this exciting new chapter in our school's history, I hope you know how profoundly grateful I am for your partnership. Chesterton Academy of Our Lady of Victory has always been defined by the families who have embraced our mission of Cultura Vitae and made it their own. The beautiful campus we are moving into is the fruit of that shared commitment, and I cannot wait to officially welcome our students back to school in August.

Thank you for all that you have done, and all that you continue to do, for our students and for our school. Be assured of my continued prayers for our students and your families, especially that this summer may be a time of rejuvenation before the back to school rush begins next month.

The sprit wear store closes tomorrow, 7/10! For new families who might be unfamiliar with our spirit wear ordering process, OLV merchandise is produced through a company called BornFit, and is only available for purchase at certain times of the the year.

Please register for the Rome Pilgrimage if you have not yet! After July 15, your student will be waitlisted, as the trip is almost full.

We are looking for one more Volleyball (girls) coach to help with our JV team this fall season. If you are interested in helping mentor and coach our student-athletes, or know someone who you think could be a good fit, please email Delaney at athletics@ourladyofvictorydenver.com. Registration for Fall sports is currently open. Current sports to be offered are Girls Volleyball and Coed Cross Country. Details will be up on the athletics web page and updated as the planning progresses.

Registration is due Thursday, July 23. This deadline gives two weeks to handle transfer paperwork, medical documentation, and it also gives coaches enough time to get their grasp on team sizes.

Dear Parents of Rising Sophomores,

Looking forward to next year, there are two possible math classes: Algebra 1 or Algebra 2. Placements will be made by referencing your students' application materials and whether or not they successfully completed an Algebra 1 course prior to their admittance at OLV. If we have a record of that they will be placed in Algebra 2 next year, if we do not, they will be placed in Algebra 1. For those expecting placement in Algebra 2, it would be wise for your student to spend time this summer brushing up on Algebra 1 skills after taking a break with Geometry. A good resource can be found here, Khan Academy's Algebra 1 materials. At the beginning of next school year a pre-test will be given to the Algebra 2 students to verify placement.

If you expect your student to be placed in Algebra 2 but would prefer them to be in Algebra 1 please let us know so we can take that into consideration.

Juniors at Our Lady of Victory have the option to continue in Latin or switch to Spanish. Please note that the class that your student is enrolled in for 2026-27 will also be the class that they take as a senior during the 2027-28 school year (i.e., all junior students who enroll in Latin III will be expected to take Latin IV as a senior, and all junior students who enroll in Spanish I will be expected to take Spanish II as a senior). Dear Senior Families: Next year, we are excited to fully implement the Chesterton Academy math curriculum and offer three different senior-level math courses: Statistics, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. Join us on Thursday, August 6 for one of OLV's favorite traditions—a bike ride and beach day at Chatfield Reservoir for our incoming freshmen!

We'll start the ride at around 9:00a.m. at St. Mary's in Littleton (beginning after the 8:15am Mass), then bike the Platte River Trail to Chatfield (about 6 miles).  Once we get there, we'll spend the morning swimming, relaxing, and getting to know one another before heading back.

When: Thursday, August 6, 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
Where: Start and end at St. Mary's Littleton
Who: All incoming freshmen—parents are welcome too!

Bring your bike, helmet, swimsuit, towel, water bottle, and a packed lunch.

Hi OLV Families! I'm excited to share that Mountain Top Therapy Services is offering individual and small group sessions this summer, including an Executive Functioning Workshop and a Writing Workshop, available for elementary through high school students.
